Keyboard labels have been carefully designed for Turkish language. We wanted to share some background facts on Turkish language and corresponding alphabet
Turkish language is the mother tongue for over 65 million people, 90% of people in Turkey speak Turkish. First writings are known to be dated the second half of the 6th AD. The language originates from its precursor, Ottoman Turkish, and was also derived from Oghuz Turkic. In order to remodernize and purify Turkish language, Turkish Language Association was founded (Türk Dil Kurumu) in 1932. Turkish alphabet is based on the Roman script, consists of 29 letters, and each letter represents a specific sound.
The original Turkish-F keyboard layout was designed by Erim Tuna in 1955 and is based on the statistical distribution of typing effort between two hands. Turkish-Q keyboard layout would be the most utilized on computer systems in Turkey and is based on QWERTY. Turkish keyboard stickers are provided for the latter layout.
