Japanese keyboard labels have been carefully designed for the Japanese alphabet. We wanted to share some background facts on Japanese language... Old Japanese early written works originated in the 8th century and included a great deal of Chinese characters due to their similarity in sound, but used with a different meaning. The writing system is composed of three scripts called Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji (script of Chinese origin). Approximately 127 million of people speak Japanese language in Japan where it is the official language, and all over the world by Japanese communities. Encoding text and entering it into PC using predefined characters is a difficult matter. An IME (input method editor) is usually used in conjunction with Japanese keyboard which shows phonetic matches for characters being entered by the user, and allows to select the desired character. Text writing has downward direction, right to left. |
